    Skirted with Triangles

    Scrape scrape
    and the skin bleeds
    paints the sidewalk
    drips over pastel chalk
    drawings of two girls
    stick bodied and
    skirted with triangles.
    Three-fingered hands
    clasped together like braids
    and music notes dance
    above curly mopped heads.
    Afternoon clouds shift,
    hopscotch spent, and now
    the game is dotted,
    bespecked and spotted
    droplets–broken dreams.

    Angel Dust

Angel dust slapped against the sky
    clouded memoir to the moon
whispered words echo on the wind,
    “Goodbye, Mother. Goodbye.”
    Pass across wan, gibbous face
    shadow leaking tears like tar,
but fear and sorrow slowly wane
    in slender, silver grace.
    On the hillside perches child
    in headstrong reverence,
    wings wrapped ’round his nakedness
    face painted blue with light.
    Golden morning rises into grey
mist swirled life, the child [...]

    Disintegrate: A Poem

    Crash against the crag
    and chip away
    piece by piece
    day by day
    tiny bits of
    stone disintegrate
    turn to sand
    carried far away
    by the constant
    churning of the sea
    forever carving
    until the soul is free.

    Commitment Report Vol XIX

Morning everyone. I hope you’re all having a good weekend and that you’ve got lots of good things going your way. I’ve been a little on the quiet side lately. Being sick last week prompted some serious reflection on my part, and I have been more focused on getting things done and spending time with [...]

    You Inspire Me Contest Winners

I was going to announce the winners of the You Inspire Me contest last Friday, but with all the issues I had on the site, I didn’t get a chance to. The contest is still happening, and so I figured that tonight it was time to buckle down and congratulate my lucky winners.

    I had just [...]

    Because YOU inspire ME…(A Contest)

Since I started podcasting Goblin Market, I have seriously slacked off in my poetry writing. Boo, but not all has been lost. I still pen the occasional verse and rhyme, but I’ve been keeping them to myself to spare you all from vomiting. For the last two months, I’ve been wanting to dive back into [...]

    Goblin Market Episode Nine

This week’s episode is a turning point of sorts, as Meredith, Him and Sir Gwydion prepare to set out for the Darknjan Wald. [...]

    Innocence

It’s been awhile since I had a poem I felt comfortable sharing publicly. This last week has been a little tense, as I watched my fourteen year old wish she was older, want to behave like an adult, but feel confused by the responsibilities that come with adult behavior. As a mother, I [...]

    Silhouette

I made the mistake of joking before I went out into the hot tub for a soak that I was visiting the Goblin Market hot tub and would probably have to pay something monumental for the soak. As soon as I got in and turned on my favorite jets, I leaned back, looked up [...]

    Flash and Flicker

It’s been awhile since I had a moment to record an audio poem to share, so tonight I thought I’d share a brutal little piece inspired by a walk I took recently during a thunderstorm. The mind roams free quite often, especially while I’m walking. I tend to have about 75% of my [...]
