This last week has been incredibly busy, between work, planning, packing and family affairs, and I have discovered a great deal about myself in the process. 1. There are two types of pressure. 2. I only work well under one type of pressure. Deadline pressure. The other type of pressure makes it impossible to focus, and while I did finally pass the 6000 word mark on Running Down the Moon, I am sad to say that I have only written about 300 words since [...]

I’m fast approaching the 5000 word mark in my novel, and just finished Chapter Two last night before bed. As a writer, we come equipped with the most wicked of tools in the way of vengeance: the capacity to secretly exploit people in our lives [...]

Snakes… big ones, little ones, fat ones, skinny ones… All my life I have been afraid of snakes. Even more than that–sharks. I’ve never swam in the ocean, though I stood on its mighty threshold watching the sun glint in rippling beauty across the waves. I wouldn’t dare set foot in those waters [...]

Maybe the serial killers see the same types of horrors writers see, so they act them out. Writers do the same thing, only they put them down on [...]
